Halfway across the world from Syria, the Eid was brought to children that went through years of war, fear and deprivation. For a few hours yesterday all was forgotten, all was forgiven by children that have seen things no child in the world should endure.
My company was pleased to be invited to celebrate Coquitlam’s new residents first Eid by providing them with a warm meal. The community came together to share some time together, treats, henna, games, sweets and dancing!
I felt privileged to be introduced to new traditions and meeting with such grateful people.
