To engage, to inspire and to celebrate the Circus Community, this is the mission of CircusFest which brings together the best circus performers on the West Coast to showcase Metro Vancouver’s outstanding circus arts talent.
I mentioned this event to friends of mine a few weeks ago and I am so glad I did as we were able to snap up some tickets for CircusWest.
CircusWest, a West Vancouver troupe, staged a dynamic re-interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and Tweedle Dee were all present in the show which was a perfect theatrical circus representation of the novel. The beautiful soundtrack, great lighting and decor accentuated the good techniques and delightful visual moves of the performance.
This 4-day circus festival is the first of its kind in Vancouver and it’s not too late to attend. Sunday November 9 is its last day with another amazing program consisting of 5 workshops, 2 forums and 5 performances. There is something for everyone.
CircusFest is taking place at The Cultch, The Wise Hall, Sideshow Studios, and the PNE Garden Auditorium and the final performances of the festival are either at The Clutch or at the PNE. If you have time to explore on Sunday, I strongly suggest that you to grab one of the last 4 daily tickets available at $60 as these give you access to all 4 shows and a Sunday which is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
Go and don’t hesitate to take part in some circus magic!
