I am not one to use professional platforms to discuss politics but today I’d like to encourage you to vote. It is an important day in Canada and you have a voice!
Whether you want a change or not, you need a government that shares your personal values and which represents you. In 1971, Canada was the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism as an official policy. By so doing, Canada affirmed the value and dignity of all Canadian citizens regardless of their racial or ethnic origins, their language, or their religious affiliation. So today, if you are a first, second, third-generation Canadian, or an immigrant, it is your right to vote.
Polls are open all day, from 7:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m, and fortunately the law is on your side. The Canada Elections Act requires employers to make sure that every employee has at least three consecutive hours in which to vote.
So please don’t wait and make your way to the poll to choose Canada’s next federal government.
