Epidermis Circus – A Theatrical Marvel of Surreal Genius

Tonight, I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing Epidermis Circus, an outlandish and ingenious creation by Britt Small and Ingrid Hansen, performed brilliantly by the endlessly talented Ingrid Hansen. From the moment the lights dimmed to the final curtain, this show was a rollercoaster of laughter, astonishment, and pure theatrical magic.

Taking my wife and my friend along, we were blown away by the creativity that unfolded on stage. Hansen’s performance is a masterclass in physical comedy, surreal artistry, and razor-sharp timing. The humor is irreverent, unfiltered, and many times, daringly edgy – with cartoonish sexual content, a sprinkle of swear words, and even puppet suicide. While these themes may sound provocative (and they are!), they’re handled with such wit and inventiveness that you can’t help but be enthralled.

The show pushes boundaries in the best way possible. With surreal hand puppets, surprising moments of dark lighting, and bursts of loud, evocative music, Hansen draws the audience into a bizarre yet oddly relatable world. We laughed very hard, and by the end, we were on our feet, giving a raucous standing ovation.

Even after the final applause, we lingered in the lobby, eager to dissect and relive the unforgettable moments. It’s the kind of show that sticks with you, sparking conversation long after the house lights have come on.

Epidermis Circus isn’t for the faint of heart, but for those who crave bold, boundary-pushing theater, it’s an absolute must-see. Ingenious, hilarious, and wholly unique, it’s a show that redefines what live performance can be.
